The Nite-Nite Show with Matt Day

This past Friday I participated in a cool photo project started by Pittsburgh photographers Laura Petrilla and Brian Kaldorf. Starting this summer, they turn Laura’s Lawrencville studio into a photo gallery with a different themed show every other month. The photo above was part of the 12 x 12 Show, in which 24 local photographers were randomly assigned an hour in the day and turn in a photo based on that time of day. It was interesting to see the different ways the different photographers interpreted the theme; some chose to do a shot during their time of the day, other photos were representations of what we usually associate with that time (waking up at six, happy hour at five, etc.)

I was assigned the hour of 11pm and the first thing that came to my mind was a late night comedy show, such as the Tonight Show. I was fortunate enough to be able to use the stage at Thunderbird Cafe for my background and my “host” is the local filmmaker and Pittsburgh Filmmakers employee Matt Day. Below you will find a few extra shots from the photo shoot.

You can read more about the show here and see the participants photos here.
