Old Timy Cars in 2012

This weekend I once again got to enjoy the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix up in Schenley Park. If you’ve never heard of it, the Grand Prix is a week long event culminating in a large car show of (mostly) vintage cars that are brought in from around the country. The roads going through Schenley Park are also closed off and turned into a track on which old sports cars race each other in several races organized by decade.

The car show features hundreds of cars and is spread out over a few acres. It takes a whole day to go around and see nearly all the cars. I say “nearly” because I don’t think it’s possible to see every car in one day.

Below are a few of my favorite shots. Hope you enjoy!

A colourful line of British Triumph sports cars.

1923 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.

Detail of a 1929 Cadillac Convertible.

1970 Porsche 911t.

I must have taken the same photo of this same Porsche 904 every year I’ve gone to the show.

Volkswagen vehicles.

Cadillac Coupe de Ville.

The headlights of a 1961 Chevy Impala.

A rusty Chevrolet 3600 truck.

Detail of a Pontiac Star Chief station wagon.

Ford 1959 Thunderbird.

1960 Edsel Ranger.

Rusty tail light on a Ford Thunderbird.
